I think I'm back...

So as y'all probably know, I've been sucking ass lately (this month). A good day was only losing like $50, lol. Well I think I'm back... I've posted +$100 profit days the last few days. Today I entered 2 ghetto tourneys on partypoker, the $5+1 (ouch, rake) NL tourney and the $2 + 0 limit Omaha tourney that had $500 added to prize pool. Both started within 10 minutes of each other. The omaha tourney had 711 entrants and holdem had 1410 entrants.

I finished 12th in the Holdem event for $52.87, and 3rd in the Omaha for $163.37

This hand in the NL tourney kept me from final table

Though I did recover at one point to have about 70,000 again but I lost back to back coinflips and was out. I moved in with 55 from button and was called by SB's AJ TQK flop (ouch). Next hand UTG moves in and I call 2.5x BB allin with A8, he had 55 and it holds and I'm out 12th. The blinds went CRAZY towards the end of the tourney. All of a sudden the blinds were 5k/10k and average stack was like 80-90k. I came close to the final table and am a little disappointed, but I feel I played real well.

One key hand for the NL tourney:
Me: ~85k chips
BB: ~90k chips
blinds were 2k/4k
I raised from cutoff to 16k with AT, BB called.
A82 flop
He checks, I bet 20k, he raises minimum. I think and fold. He shows AK. Happy!

The omaha tourney was crazy. I went on a tear early, then leveled off and was average for most of the way. I got short two or three times and never had a ton of chips till the end. I entered final table in 3rd chip position out of 10. The final table theme was BET BET BET never fold. 4 or 5 or 6 way flops were common. There were hands where more than one person got busted. I played pretty tight and tried to pick my spots well enough. With 5 people left my stack had dwindled from 110k down to about 70k. We were playing 10k/20k limit, so I was pretty short and had about 1/3rd the chips of the next guy. I forget exactly how it went but I called off most my chips with a good draw. I had like a double gut shot and flush draw and picked up another flush draw on turn. I missed everything though and ended up folding. At the time the chipcounts were:
Seat 1: FARBLU ( $202192 )
Seat 3: jabs621 ( $236978 )
Seat 4: bjybjy ( $6239 )
Seat 7: pretty_maine ( $192710 )
Seat 5: mrmerg ( $72881 )
Next hand I got: Qh, Kd, 2d, 9d went all-in made the nut straight and quadrupled up! I folded a crappy hand, then UTG I raised with Ac Td 6c 6d asking the table to quintuple me. They only quadrupbled me when I rivered a 6 (though I would have had a total blank hit river). I stayed afloat long enough for two others to bust. Three way action was crazy. The other two guys folded preflop maybe once or twice each out of about 30 hands we played 3 way. Twice I was down to 2 BBs or so and rebounded. I had the lead for awile until we capped it 3 way preflop. (Putting the shortstack allin) I had KKxx and flop was KT9 of course knucklehead #1 capped with JQxx and I couldn't lay my hand down as the pot had over 75% of the chips in play in it. The shortstack rivered the nut flush and I was the shortstack again. 70k with the limits being 15k/30k is crazy. I more than doubled again, but ended up losing when I flopped gutshot, pair and flush draw and picked up a 2nd flush draw on turn. Guy capped flop until I was allin. He had top pair nothing else so I was in real good shape, but I couldn't hit anything and board blanked off and he won with 1 pair. I would have been basically tied for first, but oh well.

A good day!

Man this post it long, but I'm so happy! Weeeeeeeeeee!

PS Go Cunningham!!!!!!1111111111 pwnzored!

Dear BoBtheMule,
You finished the tournament in 3rd place.
A $598.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

Congratulations!
Thank you for participating.

Man, I sucked out big twice. I was allin early on a flop of J56. I had AQ vs. AJ. Ten on the turn, King on the river. Then much later in the tourney after I took a few beats to knock my stack way down I was 6th in a 6 horse race when I got allin on the turn w/ A6, board was TJTT... the enemy called w/ QQ and I spiked an Ace. I got hit by the deck a few times, got sucked out on a couple times and very fortunte in others.

In the BB I had Q6 and checked when the cutoff and SB limped. Flop came 6T6 and I checked it around looking to trap. On the turn an ace fell and it checked around again... A ten falls on the river and I'm not pleased. The SB bets 600 (BB was 200 I think) and I flat call. She shows A6 and I was in serious trouble had the ten not fallen. Very lucky.

It was definately a night of suckouts on me and on others... nice for the cards to fall pretty even that way.

WooT!

Comments:
For the WSOP. Third place was really more than first/second in this spot because selling $W 650 would net me less than the 598$ I got for third.

Nice run! How'd ya bust?

Card Dead = sucks

I was so card dead, I was ready to call in the undertaker.

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 159 hands and saw flop:
- 3 out of 17 times while in big blind (17%)
- 3 out of 19 times while in small blind (15%)
- 10 out of 123 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 16 out of 159 (10%)
Pots won at showdown - 4 of 7 (57%)
Pots won without showdown - 13

I never held AA-TT and after the first hour never was above average stackwise. I held AK a few times and it paid off once. I played well and survived by doubling up w/ 77 once but with the blinds climbing I had AT chop w/ A4 and then had A8 lose to J4 (guy was getting 2.5-1 on his money and called).

I finished 513th out of 2561. -disappointing.

Tourney Wrap-up

First my results... 4 tourneys in the last two days a 1$ ghetto that lasted three hands, a 3$ ghetto where I got outdrawn and crushed in the first hour and then 74th in the $2 ghetto that culiminated in one of the strangest tourney hands I can remember for this stage of the game.

I went for an aggressive resteal...

What was he doing?

Of course the big news is the 10+R satellite where I picked up a cool T$215... turbos are certainly action packed. Whew. Look for me on Sunday as I try not to donk off my chips in the first hour like last time.

JM makes a final table!

Yes, our favorite bankroll manager made it to 4th in a $1 ghetto. Despite folding a lot of hands that would have improbably won hands... he stayed patient and went on a run with some real nice cards once it got down to the final 81. Unfortunately, the run ended when he got allin on the turn with the board AKxA. A player called with QQ and rivered a stunning Q to knock out our boy. Great showing regardless.
